I always liked the idea of being rewarded for participating in events and strength/abilities granted after leveling up. The one thing I didn’t really like was the gap between high level ‘veteran’ members and newcomers. Okay… I’ll admit people should be rewarded for being a member for a long time by having some badassery that can be backed up with legit power. However, that’s one of the biggest things that turn me off in groups. I’ll never catch up. Personally, I like no leveling, however, too many people abuse this because people want their characters to be the center of attention. so meh. Anyway, that’s my take on the questions at hand.
OH and I DID feel more incentive to participate in an event if a character would level up or get a special item. (even if they didn’t necessarily meet the requirement… making comments take a ton of time) DID, was my word of choice because I am, personally, too busy to really keep up with much of TE anymore. But, when I did have all the time in the world, it did encourage me. (TL;DR I’m done now)

TG has big issues with level imbalance in tournaments and certain events, it’s a big problem and we admittedly never do much about it but I’ve always noticed it. I’ve never had too much of a problem with ‘veteran’ characters, they worked hard to get there, but yeah being the level 1 character surrounded by people who are level 15-20 sucks.

I don’t mind super powerful characters, but I wouldn’t want too many. But it sucks to deny people the opportunity to make on ‘because there are too many of such and such’ I’d like to give people a ton of freedom but it’s really hard to do that since you can’t really predict people. I am also a huge jerk who assumes and prepares the worst case scenarios usually. orz

Not going to lie my favorite TG events were ones that guaranteed a level or at the least guaranteed SOMETHING. I mean I know the fun of rping in an event should be enough but sometimes it’s nice to get a little something for the effort.

School and Tegaki will never mix sadly. It is a fact of life and I feel you on that one.
