So I had a TE rp group idea

I doubt anyone would be interested due to it being Fable based (The game, I’m not making another Marchen.) but I was doing some research and I think I can make it in such a way that it does not break cannon plotlines too much, and be accessible and understandable to people who have not played the game.

I don’t think I will be in the end able to do this, I am certainly not about to jump into something like this now since I am really busy with school work, but it’s just something that has been on my mind.

I’m putting in a cut because I’m just going to babble about uninteresting things it’ll probably sound like gobbeldy gook haha

Last week I was thinking about how neat it would be to have some sort of Albion based rp. It’s a really neat fictional universe that is close enough to reality that working with it wouldn’t be too difficult. The issue I initially had however was quite simply what would you even do in a fable rp? My first idea was to somehow adapt a game plot to an rpable format, but because the plots mostly revolve around one ‘chosen hero’ for the most part I don’t think it’s doable without stepping on some cannon toes. (Fable 3 could be but it would be a huge mess, fable 2… not so much, and the first Fable? Well maybe.)

So I determined the best route to go would be to create an AU with it’s own plotline.

BUT I’m a lazy asshole so I scoured the fable wiki for something to work with instead.

The result, which I would probably go with would be set in Albion between the events of the first and second fables.

In the 500 years between the two games a whole hell of a lot happens, most importantly is the fall of heroes. With the plotline of the first game resulting in peace love and good feels the heroes did not have anything heroic to do. They act up and abuse their powers which angers the average joe. A huge turning point in Albion’s history is the invention of the gun. The people of Albion essentially discover that things die when you shoot them, and the things include the previously nearly unstoppable heroes. That leads to an eventual revolt against the heroes guild and yada yada yada you get the idea.

I figured that was easy enough to work with. I can’t find a decent timeline but it was Oakvale townspeople that burned down the guild, and Oakvale was destroyed 200 years before Fable 2. So I THINK setting the rp 150 to 200 years after the first game would be the safest bet. This is kind of a goldilocks zone that takes place after they find a new guild master, but before Reaver fucks up everyone’s everything. There aren’t a whole lot of canon characters that would be there and as such no canon characters to butcher in a fan rp.

The thing is not many areas have a clear timeline. This gets a bit complicated especially when I was trying to figure out what areas would even be around at that time. It’s going to take me a while to figure that out because I would like to include more areas than ones from the first game. It’s funny I’m doing all this work but I doubt people will go far from the major cities. Really I’m still working on that so I guess I’ll put that off for later.

I wrote out a guideline for rp mechanics but it’s pretty standard stuff. The group would allow users to create either a hero character or a villager of any location I end up using.

Heroes would be able to pick one to two disciplines from Skill (shootan), Will (Wizardan), and strength (swordan, punchan, and hittan). The guild hall would give out missions, some of which would be major events, others would be things to do in general. Heroes can have any alignment.

Towns people could be anyone from a lowly beggar to a rich trader or whatever people can come up with. Towns people cannot use will (Magic is a hero only thing due to bloodlines or something like that I believe.) but can still fight. Most towns people I imagine would be NPCs, but there are quite a few possibilities that would make them even slightly worth considering.

Uugh I’d need quite a few NPCs for events and things. I don’t even want to think about it because I doubt this kind of rp would last longer than a week.

ah man what else… I guess that’s about it for now.

I doubt I’ll actually do this. I’ve got no energy with school and by the time I think I’d actually be able to do so I’ll most likely not be interested in the fandom at all.

I also doubt enough people would be interested haha Fable is a decently popular series but it hasn’t had a new game recently and it doesn’t seem like something many TE users would care about.

But then I remember how I got roped into joining a misfits and a soul eater rp without knowing a single thing about either until after joining.

I guess I will wait a month or two and come back to the idea when I don’t have a test to study for.
